Launchpad
Create a coin, trade it on its curve, and follow it to Uniswap.
Anyone can create a coin on Launchpad. Each coin trades on a price curve until the curve holds 0.05 ETH, then on Uniswap. Every price and fee is in ETH.
Deference does not check or endorse any coin. You can get back less than you paid.
How a launch works
A coin goes through four stages.
- Launch. Creating a coin mints 1,000,000,000 coins, and nobody can mint more. The coin trades in its own Uniswap v4 pool, where the launchpad runs the curve. Nobody can add or remove liquidity while the coin is on the curve.
- Launch window. The first 25 blocks, about 5 minutes, have extra rules, listed below.
- Curve. Each buy raises the price and each sell lowers it.
- Graduation. The trade that brings the curve to 0.05 ETH graduates the coin. The launchpad adds the curve's ETH and the coins it set aside as full-range liquidity in the same Uniswap pool. Nobody can withdraw that liquidity. Coins left over stay locked in the launchpad forever.
On Deference, a buy larger than what is left on the curve fills to the end, graduates the coin and returns the rest of your ETH.
Launch window
Three rules apply during the launch window.
- The coin's pool trades only through the launchpad's router, which the Deference site and agents use.
- A buy cannot take a wallet above 2% of the supply, 20,000,000 coins.
- Buys pay a sniper fee. Its rate starts at 99% in the launch block and falls to a quarter of itself with each block, about every 12 seconds. After 5 blocks, about 1 minute, it is gone. Sells never pay it, and neither does the creator's opening buy.
Fees
Fees come out of the ETH side of every trade in the coin's pool, before and after graduation, whichever app sends it.
| Fee | Rate | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
| Trade fee | 1% of every buy and sell | 70% to the coin's fee recipient, 30% to Deference |
| Extra fee | 0% to 10% of every buy and sell, set at launch | Depends on the coin type |
| Sniper fee | Buys only, from 99% down to nothing within 5 blocks | Split like the trade fee |
| Launch fee | 0.0005 ETH, once, when the coin is created | Deference |
The trade, extra and sniper fees on one trade never add up to more than 99%. The rates on this page apply before that cap. When they add up to more, the cap scales each fee down by the same proportion. That happens only to buys in the launch block, where the trade and sniper fees alone add up to 100%.
For example, a launch-block buy of a coin with a 10% extra fee adds up to 1% + 10% + 99% = 110%. The cap scales each fee to nine tenths of its rate, so the buy pays a 0.9% trade fee, a 9% extra fee and an 89.1% sniper fee, 99% in all.
The fee recipient's share waits in the launchpad until someone claims it. The claim pays whoever is the fee recipient at that moment. Claim it in Portfolio.
Coin types
The type decides where the extra fee goes. Neither the type nor the extra fee can change after launch.
| Type | Where the extra fee goes |
|---|---|
| Classic | To the coin's fee recipient, in ETH |
| Burn | It buys the coin from the pool, and the launchpad locks those coins forever. These purchases do not change the supply, and the locked coins leave circulation |
| Reflection | To the coin's holders, in ETH, by the size of each balance. Holders claim it in Portfolio. The pool and the launchpad's contracts receive no share |
What can change after launch
| Detail | Can it change? |
|---|---|
| Name, ticker, type and extra fee | Never. They are on chain |
| Logo, description and links | The creator writes them once, at launch or in one later save if the coin launched without them. Then they stay |
| Fee recipient | The creator can change it at any time. Unclaimed fees go to the new recipient |
Create a coin
- Open Create coin. Sign in if you have not.
- If you want a logo, add a PNG, JPEG or WebP of up to 3 MB. The launchpad stores it as a 512 px square.
- Enter a name of up to 32 bytes and a ticker of up to 10 characters. The form counts both.
- Choose the type, then its extra fee, from 0% to 10%. The form names the fee after the type.
- Choose the fee recipient: your wallet or a wallet you linked.
- To buy your own coin in the launch transaction, add an opening buy. It pays no sniper fee, and the 2% limit still applies.
- If you want, add a description of up to 500 characters and links to a website, X and Telegram. Each link starts with
https://. - Review the coin. Then confirm in your wallet. You pay the launch fee, any opening buy and the network fee.
Agents can create coins through the MCP server, up to 3 a day and without an opening buy.
Trade a coin
- Open the coin from Launchpad.
- Choose Buy or Sell.
- Enter an amount. The quote shows what you receive after fees.
- Confirm in your wallet.
Selling needs no separate approval, because every coin already allows the launchpad's router to move it. After the launch window, the pool accepts trades from any app, and the same fees apply.
Coin content
A coin's name, logo, description and links come from its creator, not from Deference. If a coin breaks the acceptable use policy, Deference can take two separate actions.
- Hide the coin. The coin leaves the Launchpad list and search. It still opens and trades from its address.
- Block its logo. Deference stops serving that image for every coin that uses it. The launchpad also refuses the image if anyone uploads it again.
